SEA LIFE™ Makes Valentine’s Day a Family Affair: Aquarium Offers Craft, Valentines and Free Child Admission with Paid Adult. SEA LIFE™ Aquarium is celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2009 by inviting families to make heart-shaped fish Valentines on 100% recycled paper. The activity is included with admission and takes place at the Southern California Tide Pool area of the 36,000 square-foot aquarium.
Kids also have the opportunity to leave notes of affection for sharks, rays, seahorses, the octopus or other underwater creatures by depositing their Valentines in specially-made boxes in front of those exhibits. After the Valentines are collected and, of course, read to the selected creatures, guests can check www.SEALIFEus.com to find out which creature received the most Valentines and read some of the comments left by children.
SEA LIFE, which is located right next door to LEGOLAND® California in Carlsbad, is also offering online coupons for free child admission with each paid adult ticket.
While Valentine’s Day is mostly a “human” affair, families can learn a lot about the amorous exploits of the marine world at SEA LIFE Aquarium. For example, octopuses have blue blood and three hearts so they have extra love to give! The male seahorse woos his lady love with tail-twining and some male sharks signal their interest with a love-bite to the neck. Visitors can show their affection to loved ones this weekend by picking up a complimentary “I ♥ SEA LIFE” postcard to send to friends and family.
To take advantage of the Valentine’s Day admission price, guests must download a coupon at www.SEALIFEus.com/whats_new. Regular tickets prices are $18.95 for adults, $15.95 for seniors and $11.95 for children (2 to 12).
More than a standard aquarium, SEA LIFE provides an educational and interactive dynamic unlike any other. The SEA LIFE experience incorporates LEGO models into a child’s voyage to the depths of the oceans, presenting the wonders of the underwater world to them in a way specially designed for their understanding. Featuring play zones, fun facts and quiz trails, SEA LIFE is designed to be a child’s guide to the life of the sea. Adults and kids alike will marvel at the majesty and creativity of the unique and interactive atmosphere. SEA LIFE Aquarium at LEGOLAND California Resort is the 29th SEA LIFE Center to open in the world. As of today, SEA LIFE Centers around the world operate in twelve countries on two continents, bringing visitors nose-to-nose with a wide range of sea creatures.
