What I love about San Diego is that you are so near to so many things – beach, mountains, desert! And the weather is almost always great (which is important with little boys like mine who always want to be OUTSIDE!) Although we’re not in SD now, the grandparents and othere family and friends are so we visit it often. And growing up there makes me feel like an “honorary” San Diegan.

How great is life when the sun shines all the time (ok, ok most of it)! Sometimes I forget what “real” winter is until I talk to friends back east, I’ll take the marine layer any day over snow and ice(; The beach and the mountains in one place its great! We love that there are so many people in SD like us who enjoy the outdoors. It’s nice to be in a big city that feels small.
I’ll definatly keep an eye on this site to see how it develops, I’m always looking for online resources for things to do, reccomendations, and so on.
What’s not to love? The weather (in the 80s in January!) and like other people mentioned, the proximity to so many different places. You can see snow in the mountains, sizzle in the desert, go to the beach, venture to Mexico if you like, it is all just a few hours away. It is a great place to live and even when I wasn’t living here it is where I wanted to be.

what i love about san diego, is that there is so much to here, especially with kids. you’ve got one of the best zoos in the country. but i love the wild animal park, maybe even more than the zoo. then there is seaworld, legoland, disneyland not too far away. balboa park and all those museums. and of course you cannot forget the beach, which even when it is cold, it’s fun to just play in the sand or got to the park. san diego is beautiful and full of activities year round.
San Diego is fabulous! The weather has got to be the #1 bonus for living in SD. There aren’t too many other places in the country that have 80 degree weather in January. And yet, you can drive a couple hours to Big Bear and build a snowman with the kiddos. San Diego is like living in a big city without the big city feel. There is a ton to do and yet we don’t have to deal with horrible smog and congestion. Shopping, visiting museums, going to amusement parks (Legoland, Sea World, SD Zoo), and cheering for the Chargers and Padres are just a few of the perks. I love how active people are here too. Jogging, biking, walking, surfing, swimming, skating….you name it and people are doing it. I couldn’t think of a better place to raise my family than San Diego.
SD is beautiful and diverse
Hope to get some inspiration for activities!
